Dr Bala Ji

Dr. Balaji R

Dr. Balaji R is a medical practitioner, yoga therapist, academician, and researcher with expertise in both modern medicine and yogic sciences. A Gold Medalist in M.Phil and PGDYT, he holds an MBBS degree along with advanced qualifications including MD (Alternative Medicine), PhD in Yoga Therapy, MSc in Yoga Therapy, General Secretary of Indian Yoga Association- Puducherry Chapter & Joint- Secretary- SPYSA, affiliated to Yogasanabharat and a Fellowship in Clinical Diabetology. He currently serves as Assistant Professor at the School of Yoga Therapy, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Puducherry, while actively practicing medicine and contributing to the fields of yoga therapy and integrative healthcare.

With over 30 years of yoga practice and more than 18 years of experience in Yoga Therapy, Dr. Balaji has made significant contributions to education, research, clinical practice, and yogasana coaching. He has received several recognitions for his work, including the Yoga Thilakam Award, Yoga Chemmal Award, Major Dhyan Chand Award, Best Doctor Award, and Best Young Faculty Award. Through his teaching, research, and community initiatives, he continues to promote a meaningful integration of yoga and modern healthcare.

Saraswathi Vasudevan

Saraswathi Vasudevan has close to 35 years of experience in teaching yoga and providing personalized yoga therapy in the tradition of Sri T. Krishnamacharya and Sri T.K.V. Desikachar. She holds postgraduate degrees in Nutrition and Psychology, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Yoga Studies from Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM), Chennai.

Having trained under Sri T.K.V. Desikachar and other senior teachers and served at KYM for over 17 years, Saraswathi has developed deep expertise in adapting yoga to the unique needs and abilities of each individual. Her teaching is rooted in a philosophy that honors each person’s uniqueness, strengths, and challenges.

She is the Founder and Director of YogaVahini, a yoga institute based in Chennai and Hyderabad, India, offering specialized yoga therapy and teacher training programs. Saraswathi also serves as a Board Member of the Yoga Alliance (YA), contributing to the advancement of yoga professionals worldwide

Dr. Pankaj Chansarkar

Dr. Pankaj Chansarkar specializes in holistic healing techniques, in which he integrates Ayurveda, natural healing, diet, lifestyle, and yoga to provide correct tools for the body to self-heal. Over the past 20 years, he has worked with leading Ayurvedic organizations in the country like Maharishi Ayurveda, Devaaya, Jiva, Six Senses, Vana, and Vedary. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to practice alongside eminent vaidyas to gain expertise in diverse healing patterns. He combines Vedic knowledge with contemporary sciences to device a tailored treatment plan for his clients.

Dr. Pankaj Chansarkar’s postgraduate research on holistic healthcare therapies helped him develop a system of healing based on the body’s capability to heal itself through diet and a balance of bio energies.

Dr. Pankaj Chansarkar believes in patient dignity and feels the best approach to treatment is through a partnership between the patient and the doctor. He connects with his patients at a personal level and coaches them every step of the way towards achieving their health goals.

Rita Date

Rita Date has been practicing yoga for over 30 years and has studied Iyengar, Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga, along with various meditation practices. Originally from the United States, Rita moved to India three decades ago. During a time when staying connected across continents was far more difficult than it is today, yoga became an important source of grounding and support.

In addition to being a yoga teacher, Rita is a nutritionist, journalist, and author. She began writing about food and nutrition in 2005 and later founded Real Food India to promote whole foods and raise awareness about the impact of processed foods on health.

Rita also volunteered at a cancer support center, where she provided nutrition guidance to patients and their families. Recognizing the need for practical, evidence-based dietary advice during and after treatment, she wrote Fighting Cancer with the Thali, a book that combines modern nutrition with traditional Indian food wisdom. Today, Rita integrates her expertise in yoga, nutrition, and wellness education to help people lead healthier, more balanced lives through Mind, Nutrition, and Movement.
